Product is great but the one I received was faulty.Reducing 1 star for delayed LG service.Reducing 1 star for low quality control.i Wont mind buying a same monitor, with hope that another piece will not be having any fault.Facts, not an opinion:I purchased this monitor from a local dealer, not online. Immediately I noticed it has greener tint towards the left side, and little warmer towards the right. ( Please check the images of white background I attached). I immediately called up LG support and logged complain. Next day, LG support person visited my residence. He offered repair. I denied as it was a new monitor and I wanted a replacement. He said he needs to take approval from his head office. It is now more than a couple of weeks. I will update the outcome, weather they give replacement or not.~~~Update: 22 December 2018It is about to a month now, I reported the issue to LG support. I call them up more than a couple of times a week and every time the support person ask me for more time to get approval for replacement of the product.~~~~20 Feb 2019I reported the problem to LG on 22nd Nov 2018. it will be 3 months now. I made several phone calls to check the update, to ultiple people in their team. Last week I got a call from LG, they do agree to give me a refund and asked me to submit a refund request form, my Aadhar card, Pan card, receipt, and a void cheque. Their engineer collected all those documents from me yesterday. I called up today again and got informed that it will take another 15 to 20 days.I'll keep updated.~~~~12 March 2019I called up today again. There is no single point of contact. You need to deal with call center person, Service engineer, His manager, divisional manager, warehouse person, etc. Till date, I have made around 150 calls. They had promised me that I will get the refund, they have collected the original receipt, ID & address proof and refund form long back.Called up today again and been asked to wait for another week, that again, not for the refund cheque, the person said he will be able to update me after a week.~~~~30 March 2019Finally received a refund cheque from LG, couple of days ago. !!!*************
This monitor has as AH-IPS display and the picture quality is very good but I found that the product quality is not good. It has a bleeding light issue..in simple terms, when screen is black and room light is dim then you will see a glow of light leaking from corner or side of the screen. This will lead to uneven color display on screen which you might not notice if you don't work in media industry. Check the attached photos.I purchased LG 4K-UHD 24UD58 for Rs. 27850 from Amazon although the MRP is Rs. 27000.The bezels around the display is made from cheap glossy plastic and the design aesthetic is not great. I really did't had any choice for 4k display in this price range with IPS display.
I bought this monitor a while back and here's my experience:The Good:1) Has IPS panel thus has excellent viewing angles.2) Anti glare coating3) Height , tilt and z-axis rotation4) Plenty of pre-configured picture modes5) Gaming mode with black stabilizer6) Multiple inputs7) Easy to use joystick controlThe bad:1) No y axis rotation.2) HDR is not that great, still looks premature and may wash out the colours a bit.3) No build in speakers.4) Very heavy
Iam quite happy with the performance of the monitor. LG 27UK650 4k IPS.I had bought a benq 32" 4k VA monitor at 39k, but returned it due to poor performance. There was also a grey display bleed on it. The colour reproduction on it was not accurate, especially red. It was also too big for my eyes and got strain after using it. Remember that Pixel density matters and viewing distance. Decide for yourself on that.LG monitor with IPS panel is much better. Iam using it with macbookpro 15" and didn't go for LG 27UK850 (43k price) as the only benefit in that is a usb-c port (and additional usb 3.0 ports often unused) with reverse charging. But if you use a single usb-c to HDMI port (good quality with 60hz at 3k price) it also works in the same way but no charging happens. And it is always good to use the original company charger for laptop for longer battery life than using low 60watts of reverse power in the case of LGUK850. Hence LGUK650 (33k price) was apt for me as I use an additional 2.1 speakers (better than ibuilt speakers), taking audio out from the monitor. The menu and the joystick is very intuitive and also easy for volume control. I also noted that audio switching in usb-c to usb-c sometimes doesn't work automatically (in benq) in utube.Colour reproduction in this LGUK650 is superb and is at par with my macbookpro. Good contrast ratio. Sleek design and white back makes it even stunning especially for my led light bounced on the wall. Stand is also sturdy as I use a height adjustable table. I haven't figured out how to run the mac in clamshell mode without connecting power cable to laptop. Probably it doesn't work.Go for LGUK850 only if you really need usb-c at that price point.
I've bought this for my Xbox One X.If you have premium console like Xbox one X and Ps4 Pro then go for it. For PC gaming 4K resolution is too much even for my GTX 970 card. If you want to buy this monitor other than gaming, its not true HDR even itsupports HDR10. Don't use HDR Effect feature for SDR content it looks ridiculous. After one year of usage corners are turning to red after watching for 3 hours then back to normal only after turning it off for 1 hour.
Resolution is excellent, I use it as a secondary screen with my retina display MacBook pro and it puts the retina 15" display to shame.I also use this as my PS4 Pro monitor and the graphics are crisp and sharp at 60 Hz. Still waiting for games that can deliver true 4k and HDR.Price is high but compared to buying it in North America and lugging it all the way to India, the price is just right.Cons: I wish it had two display ports so that I could run both Gaming console and Computer on Display Port.10/10 in my books
The monitor has a great picture but if you get one like mine (see picture) make sure you have Amazon replace it. I'm awaiting my replacement now. For a $550+ monitor, you'd expect this not to be an issue. I'm disappointed.**UPDATE**I've since received 2 other replacements (total 3 monitors) and each of them has an issue with edge bleed. The pictures posted below of monitors 1, 2 and 3. I'm keeping the 2nd as it's the least affected. BUYER BEWARE when purchasing this monitor.
This monitor is amazing. With HDR and 4k the colors are vibrant and clear.I didn't give it 5 stars for 1 reason. HDR more or less refuses to run at 60hz via the DP cable and forces 30hz which makes the window choppy (I ordered a new cable - same issue). HDMI runs correctly. Granted this might be a Windows 10 issue but that goes to my next part that the included software wouldn't install properly. I had to manually add the monitor driver via device manager. I shouldn't have to do that. The software shouldn't require me to do that as it is required to get the monitor to work.Having said all that the monitor is simple stunning and I will never go back. Sharp, clear and nice. My R9 480 8GB runs it well enough at 4k with occasional setting or two turned down. Youtube 4k videos are awesome.
